Todd and Seamus August 2008 having fun in the sun

Suzy with Seamus, August 2008 (getting ready to hit the road from Washington to Calgary)
My husband, Todd, and I have been
involved with dogs and the dog world for over 17 years now. It all
started in Germany with the purchase of our first dog, a male German Shepard. He
was an amazing dog and traveled with us all over the world. Then in
Norway in 1996, while attending a training class, I watched a little
red terrier tackle our 110 pound German Shepard and a love affair with terriers was
born! I started with Cairn Terriers, and in 3 short years had acquired
another 3 dogs. All Cairns of course! During this time, I started
showing in Europe and traveling to the terrier mecca of the world,
England. It was at Crufts, where I first spotted the Irish Terrier and it took
me another 7 years to get one of my own. Now we share our home with 2
retired Cairns and 3 Irish Terriers on a permanent basis.
Besides
being involved in the dog show world, I work part-time as a dog trainer
and I am in the process of finishing my certification through the
American/Canadian Pet Dog Trainers Association, APDT/CAPPDT for short.
I became involved with this organization mainly because they are the
only association that actually certifies trainers and they are
committed to positive/reward based training.
So, again welcome to Stonefell Kennels and take a look around. We hope you enjoy our site!
